In a press release today, NASA has stated that the Hubble team is going to "report on a significant discovery about planets orbiting other stars". They will be holding a press release on Thursday, Nov. 13th at 2:30 PM EST. According to the NASA press release:
"This unique discovery, made by the Hubble Space Telescope's Advance Camera for Surveys instrument, also will be featured in the Nov. 14 issue of the journal Science."
What could this discovery be? And what's with the wait? Maybe they discovered something significant and want to build suspense to a great scientific revealing. Did Hubble find an Earth-like exoplanet? I guess we'll find out on Thursday.
