Hi, I just sent you an email. People in the science community need to know that the unintended consequences of a new law (CPSIA) is putting the brakes on science education in the United States. I hope you'll notify your colleagues. Otherwise, school children will have to resort to squinting through toilet paper tubes to see the stars. The largest supplier of microscope light bulbs has pulled his ten cent product off the market too. And that's just for starters. Producers of high quality organic clothing and toys can't afford the $4,000+ price tag for testing so the very people we want to encourage and buy from are being effectively banned. All that will be left are large producers of plastic who can afford the testing.
