Meteor Explodes Over Colorado

Right on the trail of the recent Canadian fireball, a new superbolide has been witnessed near the town of Guffey, Colorado. Astronomer Chris Peterson, of the Cloudbait Observatory, was able to capture video of the giant fireball on his dedicated all-sky camera.

Thomas Ashcraft in New Mexico also has radio observations of the superbolide.

If you saw this fireball, please report it here.

Are these things happening more often, or are we just getting better at catching them on film? I assume the latter :-)

I would just imagine that as the number of video cameras increases, so would the number of superbolides caught on tape.
