The shuttle Atlantis is carrying with it equipment that NASA wants on board the ISS before they retire the shuttles. They have to send these items up now, since when the shuttle retires, there will be no current launch vehicle capable of carrying some of these items up to the station. The shuttle is also carrying an experiment on some worms that will help scientists understand the causes and effects of weightlessness on the body.

Clear skies!
